Clinical Advisor for PSIAM Desk

South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Trust have a number of opportunities for Registered Qualified Nurses, Technicians and Paramedics to work as Clinical Advisors within our Emergency Dispatch Centres. This is an opportunity to work across a wide variety of cases delivering telephone advice to 999 callers who may not require an emergency response and can be referred to an alternative pathway or given self care advice.
Evidence of good communications skills, team working and keyboard ability with a basic understanding of using a PC is essential to this role. Accident and Emergency experience is desirable.
Successful candidates will undertake four weeks training to include Advanced Medical Priority Dispatch, PSIAM (Clinical Telephone advice) and use of the Computer Aided Dispatch system. There will then be a period of mentorship until competent to work alone.
Successful individuals will be expected to work 37.5hrs per week (part time hours available -18.75 hours a week. Part time candidates will be required to undergo initial training on a full time basis. Clinical Advisor’s will be allocated to dedicated dispatch teams and follow the team’s full rotating rota.
Successful candidates will be required to maintain appropriate professional registration. Dual Role positions available for qualified Ambulance Technicians and Paramedics.

Indicative Band 5 - £19,166 to £24,803 + Up to 25% unsocial hours + 5% High Cost Allowance Banstead
